A NEW YEAR -- A NEW OPPORTUNITYLooking for Volunteer Drivers
Many older folks in our community have given up their keys and no longer drive. Yet, they still need to get to medical appointments, go shopping, do their banking, have their hair cut. Can You Help? If you have a couple of hours a week, or even a couple of hours a month, consider being a volunteer driver. You can select your geographic area and the times you wish to drive. You will be provided with training, and supplemental accident and liability insurance. You may receive a discount on your automobile insurance.
Call Sr. Anne Guerin at 244-8400, ext. 142, or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org and she will help you get started. Why wait?
HOME CARE SERVICES
Caregivers are available from the Sister of St. Joseph. Sisters Care offers non-medical home care services: companionship, spiritual support, housekeeping, transportation and respite for family caregivers. A Sister can be available once a week for two or three hours. Fees are negotiable. Please contact Sr. Elizabeth Leonard at 458-8540 for more info.
Staff members visit the area hospitals on a weekly basis. However, occasionally the hospital either does not notify us or have the information that a St. Pius Tenth parishioner has been admitted. Please contact the Parish Office (247-2566) to let us know when a loved one is in or going to be admitted to a hospital, and we will make every effort to visit.
